PROJECT SUMMARY

The AddInov 4.0 Project - SME Capacity Building Programme with a view to increasing their competitiveness, flexibility and responsiveness in the global market, which aims to contribute to solving a joint problem shared by many SMEs, through the implementation of new organizational methods and management practices, strengthening the presence in the digital market and the use of ICT, implementing new management systems and obtaining certifications and empowering SMEs to place goods and services on international markets.

Following its strategy of empowering SMEs, InovCluster continues its commitment to the development of projects that enhance the qualification of small and medium enterprises, responding to a set of pressing needs in the area of innovation and technological development.

The creation of dynamic business culture, through which companies seek to increase their competitiveness, promoting the development of new innovative and differentiating products and services is, nowadays, essential, especially given the progressive globalization, the rapid technological evolution and the saturation of markets.

The increasingly global and knowledge-based competition requires a profound differentiation that assures the company's competitiveness at an international level. To become competitive, it is essential that companies invest in innovation, continuously, either by redefining their strategic orientation or by adjusting their activity to offer the best products at the best prices and in line with global technological trends.

Thus, it is important that companies focus on adopting new management practices, new organizational methods and work philosophies (including those related to issues such as Industry 4.0 and Circular Economy); on strengthening their presence in the digital economy and the use of ICT; on strengthening their design capacity, branding, knowledge transfer and protection of intellectual property; and on implementing new management systems and certifications, with a view to strengthening the competitiveness of SMEs in international markets.

AddInov 4.0 aims to create conditions for participating companies to meet the needs in the area of qualification, namely through the following strategic objectives:

- Improve the organisational capacity of companies by strengthening their management practices and implementing new models based on Industry 4.0 and Circular Economy;

- Facilitate the insertion of companies in the Digital Economy through the acquisition of relevant equipment and software and the implementation of new methods, namely in the area of distribution and logistics;

- To ensure a favourable positioning of companies in external markets by strengthening their design capacities, branding, intellectual property registration and knowledge transfer;

 - To support the obtaining of management, process and product certifications, valued by international markets, and to enable the implementation of Management and Research, Development and Innovation systems and the Eco-Management and Audit Scheme (EMAS).
