Presentation of the SAFEWATER Project
On 23 March at 2.00 pm, the presentation event for the new SAFEWATER project will take place at the CEI – Centre for Innovative Enterprises in Castelo Branco.
The SAFEWATER project aims to test the application of a quaternary treatment process for effluent from the Castelo Branco Wastewater Treatment Plant, enabling the reuse of water for agricultural irrigation in the Tejo Internacional Natural Park area. The initiative contributes to more sustainable water management and to the adaptation of the agricultural sector to water scarcity.
This project, funded by Fundação “la Caixa” and FCT – Fundação para a Ciência e a Tecnologia, is led by Universidade de Coimbra, in partnership with InovCluster, the Serviços Municipalizados de Castelo Branco and the Grupo ADPValor, with the cooperation of Parque Natural do Tejo Internacional.
