As part of the PTCentro DiH project, we are pleased to announce a new digital skills training and development programme, focusing on the topic of ‘Generative AI in the Workplace’. The initiative aims to equip professionals from different sectors and at various levels within organisations to use artificial intelligence tools effectively in a workplace context.

The training will be led by Ângela Oliveira, a lecturer at the School of Technology of the Castelo Branco Polytechnic Institute (IPCB), and will consist of two practical and interactive sessions, each lasting two hours, delivered online. Participants will also have access to two hours of supplementary self-study.
Over the course of the two sessions, topics such as the following will be covered:
- Overview of AI and its applications in a professional context;
- Effective techniques for interacting with AI systems (prompting);
- Task optimisation and process automation;
- AI-assisted professional communication;
- Support for analysis, critical thinking and decision-making;
- Best practice, limitations and responsible use.
The training also includes practical sessions, application to real-life cases and the development of an individual action plan for integrating these tools into participants’ professional routines. In addition to the training hours, participants will be required to complete 2 hours of independent study.
Expected outcomes:
Participants will acquire the skills to use generative AI in professional tasks, improve the quality of their written communication, support information analysis and interact effectively with these technologies.
