Atlantic Food Innovation Hub
Hub4Food aims to strengthen the research, development and innovation capacities of the food industry and research and technology organisations in the Atlantic Area. It focuses on promoting the development of new and improved food products, particularly those of marine origin. Hub4Food will support the adoption of new technologies and processes to increase sustainability and competitiveness in the Atlantic food sector, while improving support services for businesses, particularly SMEs.
Project objectives:
-
- Create a business innovation structure that provides services to companies, supporting their innovation and competitiveness.
- Develop a technology roadmap and skills database that Atlantic food industries can use.
- Implement a market-oriented R&D&I (research, development and business innovation) programme, consisting of collaborative pilot projects between SMEs in the Atlantic region's food sector and hub4food technology centres.
- Generate new knowledge and raise awareness of the food sector by bringing together science, policy makers and society.
Hub4Food - Innovation Support Mechanism for Companies
Hub4Food will implement a Business Innovation Strategy to provide services to companies, supporting innovation and competitiveness. It will function as a central virtual network of regional/national contact points that implement services in their respective regions but cooperate transnationally to ensure maximum impact and success.
Hub4Food services are provided by the partnership clusters, which collaborate with each other in defining and delivering these services. Each cluster has prepared a catalogue of services available to SMEs in the food sector in their respective regions.
