The PORTUGUESE AGROFOOD CLUSTER is the cluster for the Portuguese agri-food sector with a national dimension, which was publicly recognised by the Government in February 2017 and currently brings together 3 entities, PortugalFoods, InovCluster, AgroCluster, and PortugalFresh.
With more than 440 companies and 50 other associates (non-business entities of SI&I, business associations and others), the Portuguese AgroFood Cluster represents a huge diversity of relevant actors from all regions of the country.
This model of bringing the three entities together around a common strategy is intended to strengthen the active participation of the various institutional and sectoral partners, and especially companies, in building a collective strategy to support internationalisation and innovation in the agri-food sector.
The Portuguese Agrofood Cluster had its recognition as a competitiveness cluster renewed for the 2024-2030 cycle on 7 January 2025. As a competitiveness cluster with a national impact, it aims to encourage the mobilisation of economic players for collaborative knowledge sharing, centred on collective efficiency actions in the fields of research and development and innovation, training, internationalisation and the sustainability of resources that will enable the national economy to take on a more global dimension.
MISSION
To strengthen the competitiveness of companies in the agri-food sector by increasing their technological index, promoting the production, transfer, application and valorisation of innovation-oriented knowledge; to promote the internationalisation of companies in the sector by training them, identifying and capturing opportunities.
