Company:Founded in 1985 by Sebastião dos Santos Gomes, Lacto Serra started its production in 1990, in the place of Barracão, 4 Kms away from the Aguiar da Beira's Town Hall, Beira Alta Region.
The Company produces a Regional quality cheese, through modern equipment and technology. Nowadays it employs about 25 people in a covered area of 4.000 m2. In its own laboratory, equipped with the most elevated technology, the produced cheese is submitted to a rigorous quality control at laboratory level (HACCP). Furthermore, periodic analyses of the raw material and final product (cheese) are performed in official and certified laboratories to verify the quality of our product, thus guaranteeing our slogan "The Cheese of your Taste". It was equipped with a whey concentration system, reusing it, thus contributing to a better environment. Pursuing its environmental concerns, Lacto Serra is certified by the norm ISO 22000:2005 - Certification of the Management System and Food Security.
Lacto Serra is a company with tradition and considers important the promotion of the municipality and the region where its cheese is produced.
